The youngest child of James and Freelove Forrest has been a mystery to the Forrest family researchers for a number of years. He left so few clues as to where he lived, what he did and the names of his children. What we do know is that Nathaniel Green Forrest was born March 1844 in Ozark Co., issouri and died April 1908 in Scott County, Arkansas. He married (1) Matilda "Till" Barnett December 29, 1866 in Ozark Co., MO, a daughter of Levi Barnett and Elizabeth Williams who was boorn October 01, 1847. After Matilda's death in 1875, Green married (2) Manerva J. Miller on March 05, 1876 in Ozark Co.

In 1850 - 1860, Green is living with his parents in Ozark Co.. In 1880, he and his family are living in Johnson Co., AR, and in 1900 they're in Tate Township, Scott Co. AR. According to the 1900 Census, Green and Manerva had five of eight children alive. In 1910, Manerva is listed as a widow and had four of seven children alive.

James Marlton Forest

James Marlton Forest was born January 12, 1871 in Missouri, and died October 25, 1962 in Ceres, Stanislaus CO., CA. He married Julia Ann Freeman March 29, 1891 in Pope CO., AR, a daughter of Moses Freeman and Minerva Hobbs. In 1910, the family is living in Coal Township, Scott O., AR. James and his family moved to California circa 1928. They evenutally settled in Stanislaus Co., where James lived for twenty years prior to his death. At the time of his death, James was widowed, living in Modesto, Stanislaus Co., CA. He died at Willows Nursing Home, in Ceres, CA

.His obituary in the Modesto Bee, October 27, 1962: JAMES M FOREST - Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Pentecostal Church of God for James M Forest, 91, who died yesterday in a local nursing home after a long illness. The Rev. Ray A Holton will officiate. Forest, who had lived here for 20 years, was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God. Burial will be in the Lakewood Memorial park. Friends may call at the Franklin Downs Funeral Home until 10AM Monday.

Julia, James wife, died in 1957 and is buried in Lakewood Memorial Park also. Her death notice from Modesto Bee, Nov. 30, 1957, p 2: "FOREST - Funeral services for the late Julia Ann Forest will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the Pentecostal Church of God, 6th and K Streets by Rev. Ray A Holton. Committal will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park. A Franklin & Downs Funeral Home service.

Green D. Forest

The only time Greein is found is on the 1880 census.  He is listed as GD Forest and is 9 years old and born in Missouri.  No other information has been found on Green D.

W. J. Forest

W. J. only appears on the 1880 ceneus.  He is 5 years old and born in Missouri. 

Sadie E. Forest

Sadie was born August 1875 in Missouri.  She married Mage Lincksn 3 July 1898 in Crawford County, Arkansas.  We find she and Mage in Scott County, Arkansas in 1910 and 1920.  It is believed that Sadie died around 1921.

Eliza A. Forrest

Elia was born September 1878 and died between 1900 and 1907 in Arkansas.  She married James Linzey Glass 26 Feb 1899 in Franklin County, Arkansas. 

Henry Robert Forrest

Henry was born 14 September 1881 in Arkansas and died 2 May 1960 in Camarillo, Ventura County, California.  He married Mae Tenny Barbee 29 Nov 1904 in Stigler, LeFlore Co., Indian Terriotory (Oklahoma). 

Samuel Marshall Forrest

Samuel was born December 1883 in Arkansas.  His date of death is unknown.  He married Zella Langston.

Sherman Forrest

Sherman was born 13 September 1890 in Arkansas and died 28 June 1938 in Jenks, Tulas County, Oklahoma.  He is buried in the Rosecutter Cemetery in Jenks.  He first married Fleetie Johnson 24 July 1913 in Scott County, Arkansas.  His 2nd marriage was to Fannie Smith 16 April 1924 in Oklahoma.

Lula Pearl Forrest

Lula was born Feb 1894 in Arkansas and died 7 June 1967 in Big Spring, Howard County, Texas.  She first married Dock Thompson 7 April 1909 in Scott County, Arkansas.  Her 2nd marriage was to Perry O. Miller 23 December 1916 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  She was also married to Caspar Bascom and Alex Sneed. She and Caspar had one daughter, Christine Bascom Williams. Her death was the result of a traffic accident.
